As it currently stands with EXP sharing, this tower has a strange quirks.
The base tower cannot gain experience from its own effect past level 12.
The first upgrade cannot gain experience from its own effect past level 18.
The fully upgraded shaman cannot gain experience from its own effect past level 24.

This is especially noticeable when you first place the tower, as its pretty common to have your towers around level 10 or higher by that point, meaning you buy an EXP aura effect that won't do anything for 10+ rounds until you can finally upgrade it.

Edit: I wanted to just note why I said with EXP sharing. When EXP sharing isn't on, you are likely to have towers below level 10-12 when you place the tower, meaning there is still an initial value to placing it.
